Propair Obtains BARS Certification

On January 21, 2026, Propair officially obtained the Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS), a certification attesting to the implementation of  quality and safety processes permitted among the highest standards in the industry.

What is BARS?

Untitled creation-84

An initiative of the Flight Safety Foundation, BARS is a certification program designed to standardize and elevate aviation safety standards worldwide. Rather than relying on individual carrier-specific standards, BARS establishes a superior and uniform framework for quality and safety, demonstrating the rigor of our organization. The criteria established by BARS aim to minimize the risk of in-flight accidents, and ensure the compliance and effectiveness of our procedures in the event of an incident.

An assessment based on 5 critical factors

Critical control of personnel

Ensure that pilots have the required licenses, qualifications and experience.

Aircraft critical control

Ensures that aircraft used are appropriate for our operations, properly equipped, and airworthy.

Critical fuel control

Guarantees that each aircraft receives clean fuel in sufficient quantity to ensure safe operations.

Weather monitoring and forecasting

Ensures that flight crews have all necessary information regarding weather conditions to operate safely.

Critical control of operational infrastructures

Confirms that our operations are conducted on infrastructure and runways suited to our activities.

The achievement of the BARS certification represents a strategic, large-scale project requiring compliance with 288 rigorous criteria. Its implementation has required significant human, financial, and operational resources, and will continue to require them in the coming years to ensure its maintenance and continuous improvement.

A long-term commitment

Continuous improvement is an integral part of our culture. We will continue our efforts, vigilance and professionalism to maintain and further raise our standards over time.

Our quality and safety processes will be assessed annually by BARS to renew our certification and ensure our compliance with its standards. So, day after day, we demonstrate our ongoing commitment to safety.
